Cue the confetti – you are now a fiancé!!! Single lady no more. Now that you have the rock, the idea of wedding planning can seem overwhelming, though shopping for your dream gown shouldn’t be. She Said Yes Bridal is here to help!
Below are 5 tips to help you prepare for your wedding dress shopping adventure and ways to keep your experience as stress-free as possible!

1. Do Your Research

It never hurts to have an idea of what kind of gown you may like. Having a starting point is helpful to not only you but also for your consultant! If we have an idea of what you are liking and/or not liking, we will be able to pull gowns for you based on your personal style.

2. Stay Open Minded

Doing research is great as it gives you a starting point, however, be open to suggestions and new styles. Everything looks different once you try it on! You’d be surprised how many brides say yes to a gown that they never expected to love! You don’t want to miss out on an opportunity just because it’s not what you THOUGHT you wanted.

3. Set a Budget

It’s important to have a budget established before you go wedding dress shopping. Don’t forget to count the cost of alterations, the veil, shoes, and other accessories. Setting the budget ahead of time will help keep you from getting overwhelmed when it comes time to make decisions.

4. Shop Early

It takes 4-6 months for wedding gowns to arrive once you place your special order. You also need to account for the time needed for alterations and if you are planning to do bridal portraits before the big day. To avoid rush fees and just to give yourself plenty of time, shopping early is always a good idea.

5. Call Ahead and Book an Appointment

Scheduling an appointment helps to guarantee the best possible customer experience. You will have a consultant ready and dedicated to helping you find your dream gown. If you need an appointment after hours or on a Sunday, at She Said Yes we do offer our Luxe Experience. We say every appointment with us feels like a VIP Experience, though the Luxe is just ONE step above offering a completely private 3-hour appointment versus our 90-minute Signature Experience. During our Luxe, we also serve treats of the bride’s choice along with champagne and a bouquet in the colors of your wedding. Regardless of which appointment you select to be best for you, scheduling an appointment so that the salon is prepared for your arrival and reserving a fitting room for you is another way to assure a fun, exciting shopping adventure!
Overall, try to enjoy the process! The wedding will pass quicker than you think. Have fun and try not to over think the little details. Happy wedding planning!
