When first meeting with Brittany and Chad to talk about their wedding at Sassafras Springs Vineyard, we instantly knew it was going to be a special day. The way they talked about each other and their friends and family showed just how much they were looking forward to their wedding day. Add to this that they planned on having a light-up dance floor and we knew it was going to be a good time!
After arriving at Sassafras Springs Vineyard to start shooting the getting ready images, it was amazing to see how calm and collected they both were. There was no stress or anxiety (at least that we could see). Instead, everyone was laughing and just enjoying the time they had together getting ready. This carefree and loving attitude they started with followed them through the rest of the wedding day.
Although their entire wedding was amazing, there are a few things that stood out to us. The first thing was the fact that Brittany’s dad had passed away and was not able to be there in person. Although he wasn’t able to be there, they still wanted him to be part of their big day. To do this they incorporated a portrait of him that was carried down the aisle by Brittany’s two sisters. They also incorporated her dad’s old classic car and parked it right in front of Sassafras Springs Vineyard. This car ended up being a hot spot for group selfies. It also ended up being the location for some of our favorite portraits from the night.
The next key element that really stood out for us came from the father-daughter dance. Because Brittany was unable to dance with her father, she asked Chad’s father to dance in his place. Not only was this an amazing gesture of two families truly coming together, but the APPRECIATION that Chad’s father felt was more than apparent. When he wasn’t letting his emotions show, he and Brittany were lip syncing the song to each other and everyone else in the crowd!
The last stand out feature for this wedding was the light-up dance floor. This was something that Both Brittany and Chad were excited about since we first met with them. Not only did the dance floor add a special mood to the first dance, but it also really kicked up the party dancing! This was one of the most lively and energetic dance floors we have seen.
