The Record Downtown Wedding Venue

Are you a modern bride who wants her wedding to reflect that modern vibe? Do you dream of a Bentonville wedding location that personifies all that is hip and cool, with the added bonus of being close to the community’s square and downtown scene?

Then look no further than The Record, a venue designed specifically to enhance what already makes Bentonville’s up and coming social scene great. It’s little wonder that this venue was created by Rope Swing Group, an innovative team out of Bentonville, who seeks to transform communities through hospitality. They set about repurposing the car dealership turned newspaper office into the ultimate events location with an urban feel. With help from Mark Herrmann of Polk Stanley Wilcox Architects, The Record sought to become a building that nods to its history, but has a sleek new life. Four years after the initial remodel, it will make any couple’s dream of a wedding with a downtown twist come to life.

The Record’s red and gray brick exterior and simple neon signage is the embodiment of vintage chic, harkening back to the early days of Bentonville’s Square. On the side of the building is a striking mural, created by Mexican artist Edgar Saner. Adding color and whimsy, it is sure to give guests a reason to pause and admire. Twinkle lights strung outside lend themselves to a romantic but modern ambiance, and ensure that every selfie taken will look magical.

Come inside, and you’ll find the interior is intentionally simplistic, allowing The Record to be highly adaptable to whatever your vision. While the wood barrel ceiling and old paint-slapped brick were left intact, the addition of two cocktail bars makes clear the building’s new purpose. Projector screens allow you to get creative with your wedding branding, whether that’s through displaying your wedding hashtag or showcasing those adorable childhood moments of the two of you. Poured concrete floors encourage guests to dance the night away, while the building’s original multi-paned windows and garage doors makes the space feel airy and open.

One thing sure to impress you about The Record is the location. The Rope Swing Group seeks to encourage activity near the square, and the venue’s NW A Street location lends itself to that mission. Guests are only steps from amazing drinks and dining at such Bentonville standouts as Tusk & Trotters or Preacher’s Son. Nearby hotels including 21c and Artisan Inn are only a brief walk away. For guests driving in, parking is plentiful. The closest public parking lot is across the street, and all downtown public parking is free.

The Record offers two event spaces for your big day: Record North and Record South. Which space works best for you wedding? Well, that depends on the size of your guest list.

Record North is ideal for a larger gathering, allowing you to comfortably accommodate 300 to 850 people. With over 4,400 sq. ft. of interior space and a 1350 sq. ft. veranda bordered by a bamboo perimeter, Record North allows guests to move freely throughout and take in all the little details you put into your wedding.

For a more intimate feel, choose Record South. The space will hold 150-450 guests, depending on the layout you choose. 3,100 sq. ft. of indoor space lead to a 1,295 sq. ft. outdoor courtyard, featuring an outdoor green wall and neon signage.

Want to go all out? Reserve the Record’s full space, granting you usage of all 8,100 sq. ft., and allowing you to say yes to every person your mother insists must be on the guest list.

Rates for the Record range from $2500 - $7500, depending on day and season. Want to save some money and enjoy some spontaneity? Last minute open dates often go on sale, and can be found on The Record’s Instagram page (@recorddowntown).

The Record gives you access to the building beginning at 8 a.m., meaning there’s no rushing to get everything set up for the big event. Want to party the night away? The facility is open to you until 2 a.m.

Renting The Record includes twenty 72” round tables and 200 padded mesh backed modern chairs; however, you are also welcome to rent elsewhere. The facility also boasts a commercial prep kitchen, large ice machine, and fully integrated AV system. They do not provide linens or serving pieces for catering.

Renters enjoy an open catering policy, so feel free to treat your guests to your favorite local bites! All alcohol must be handled through The Record’s Bar program, and weddings with over 150 guest must utilize a security officer from the Benton County Sheriff’s office.
