The Apollo on Emma

It’s rare to find a wedding venue that has left such an indelible footprint on a community as The Apollo on Emma. The Apollo’s story began eighty years ago, when it served as Springdale’s favorite theater. The theater was in operation until the 1960s when it closed its doors. Flash forward to 2014, and new owners purchased The Apollo with the dream of returning it to its former glory.

After an extensive two year renovation, the space opened in August 2017, and once again began contributing to downtown Springdale’s vibrant culture. Local guests might even have memories of where they sat to watch the latest smash hit on the big screen. This time around though, the epic love story they’re watching unfold in front of them might just be yours!

According to local legend, the theater-turned-venue received its name by way of a marble statue of – who else – Apollo that stood proudly in the lobby. Today that same greek god now watches over the venue from the foyer, a plus one that’s sure to give everyone a nostalgic chuckle. And though the façade of the building may look the same, the marquee now reads the name of the lucky couple saying their vows inside.

Walking into The Apollo transports guests to the elegance and glamour of Springdale in the 1940s. Every effort has been made to maintain the building’s original art deco style. Ten crystal chandeliers hang from 20 ft. recessed ceilings. Marble floors add an air of refinement, while double wooden staircases just beg for a dramatic entrance from the bride and groom.

The cocktail lounge sets the tone for the evening, with vintage mirrors and a cherry wood bar topped with marble. It’s the ideal place to serve your signature cocktail and allows friends and family to mingle while you finish taking the last few photos.

The inside ballroom is decorated in neutral beiges and grays, allowing it to be a blank canvas for any couple’s vision. The room can accommodate up to 500 guests, and still has plenty of room for dancing the night away.
A unique feature at The Apollo is their Metropolis Room, overlooking the main ballroom. Designed as a VIP room, it features two built-in bars. It’s the perfect place for you and your wedding party to hide away until the DJ makes your introductions.

If you’re interested in getting married or having your reception on The Apollo’s grounds, but have a winter wedding date, you’re in luck. The space is permanently tented, making it available year round, and is wired with electricity to allow for a plethora of propane heaters. It can comfortably accommodate up to 225 guests.

The Apollo does not offer areas for the bride and groom to get ready on site. However, the venue has partnered with The Grove Cottage, located only a block away, to give you a versatile space in close proximity to the ceremony site. Hosting up to six people, The Grove can be used as bridal quarters, a place for family members to stay, or even host the bride and groom on their first night as a married couple.

Clients can use any vendor of their choice for food and alcohol, provided they are licensed. A kitchen with a commercial double refrigerator, as well as built-in bars with marble tops, will be the envy of your catering company. Rather than renting from an outside vendor, The Apollo also offers 350 solid white chairs and 41 tables for your reception. Best of all, everything is included in the price of the venue.

When the party winds down, guests who want to experience the best of downtown have plenty of options. Local favorites such as The Odd Soul or Emma Ave. Bar & Tap are quite literally steps away, giving out-of-towners a taste of all the amazing dining and nightlife options Springdale has to offer.

The Apollo is available for $1500-$6500, depending on season and event duration. Guests looking for more affordable pricing might try to book their wedding during December, January, or February, as the Apollo considers this off-peak season.
