Remember your last photo shoot? The one you had to bribe your child to smile for an entire hour? Do you recall shopping for outfits, getting ready and then those awkward poses? Walk, pose, smile, walk, hold hands, pose, smile.

This isn't that type of photography.

When you look back at your photos, I want you to remember the things that really matter. I want you to see the way your child smiles when you walk in the door after a day of work. Or the way they play with their food when they are done eating, but you make them take one more bite. I want you to see crying over spilled milk at breakfast, laughing with their sibling as they do something they know they aren't supposed to do, or tired eyes as they fall asleep in your arms during story time before bed. The hilarious. The sad. The messy. The real.

Say no to traditional.

The Harris Family
"our daily routine seemed a little mundane"

"I’ve had a lot of family photo shoots over the years, but our favorite picture is also the most unexpected. It’s a candid shot of all four of us cuddled on the couch, wrestling, tickling, and laughing together. And it perfectly captures our family and the stage we were in when Jason captured that image. Now we have a teenager and a tween and moments like that are few and far between, so that picture makes me smile and remember the craziness we experienced daily during that time in our lives.

I look at that photo almost every day, but recently I went back and looked at the video Jason made from our images and I was immediately transported back. I remembered Will’s obsession with Pokemon Go. I remembered the endless trips the boys made up and down the neighbors’ driveway on their scooters. And I remembered when Trae was small enough to scale the doorways. At the time our daily routine seemed a little mundane, but looking back now I can see the little moments that turned us into a real family."
